GROWING IN CHRIST

"A God Without Limits"

Date published: 10/24/2016

Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (NIV)

I love this verse. I have had it memorized for over thirty years; but when reading it the other day in my quiet time, I heard the Lord say, “Do not limit Me by your humanness.” This caused me to reflect on God, who He is, and the expansiveness of His power and might. Having walked with God for some time, it is easy to underestimate the potential of what God can do. Instead of questioning whether God can do something, why not allow Him to do all He wants to do in our lives? Imagine vigorously pursuing and walking with the God in 1 Corinthians 2:9-10a in such a way that we allow Him to express His life more pervasively than we have ever imagined, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.” (NIV) What if out of the pursuit of your intimacy and love for Christ, the bounds of His purpose, love, and work not only become clearer, but are also magnified into greater action? Are you willing to allow God to draw you into a walk and relationship with Him that is immeasurably more than you have asked for or imagined? Are you ready to allow God’s power to be released in you as never before? This potential relationship with Christ should bring exhilaration to us as followers of Christ!

As you contemplate this type of relationship with Christ, consider the following truths:

·         Jeremiah 32:27 proves why God should be your first step in any life activity, opportunity or difficulty, “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind.  Is anything too hard for Me?” (NIV)

·         Romans 4:21 explains why you can come to God confidently with your needs, “Being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised.” (NIV)

·         John 14:13-14 confirms God’s desire to act in your life, “And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.” (NIV)

Live your life in Christ fully expecting, and experiencing, more than you ever imagined.

Jude 24 “To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy.” (NIV)
