Just as it is not enough to plant a seed and water it once, you must continue sowing into God’s Word, praying, and trusting Him with your life. 1 Corinthians 3:6 says, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.”(NIV) Once you remove yourself from the source of nourishment and refreshment, you shrivel and die. Knowing Christ in salvation is wonderful, but unless you keep coming back to the wellspring of life to be watered and fed you will miss the righteousness for which He created you. Come daily to the Lord for feeding, for His encouragement, and for His direction, so that the fountain of His righteousness might pour through you.
